Holiday/Beach day

Hi there so don't know if I've really put this in the right forum but just looking for some advice.

So I'm hoping to take my whole family on holiday later in the year but also make the most of the nice weather and do beach days too.

My son is autistic and has high sensory needs. Aswell as I have an older child who we are going through the process of a diagnosis for Adhd.

My son struggles when it comes to being on the beach and also the amusements and can sometimes be a struggle when in a new surroundings especially over night (holiday)

Is there any suggestions you could possibly give me about making our day/experience abit easier on ourselves??. We are going to be getting some ear defenders in the hope he will use them and help block out the noise a little for him

  • Could you get a book, age appropriate about going to the beach? You could get a basin and fill with some colourful  kinetic sand with a small spade or siv and let your child drop sand through it, or your child could pour water into the sand? You could play with it, or maybe try to get your child to wear some latex gloves when touching the sand.
