How to choose a school

Hello,

My son is attending a mainstream primary school. He is bright but struggles in school because of dyspraxia and social and communication difficulties. I am in doubt if a specialist school would suit his needs more. His current school is doing all it can but  it often feels like that is not enough. He has an Ehcp.

Has anyone had any experience of specialist schools for autistic children that can be shared, please?

Many thanks

Nana

  • My daughter is 15 and joined a specialist school specialising in autism 10 months ago. She really struggled in school and her needs couldn't be met. Now, we have seen a huge improvement. Staff are very understanding and give it their all. They quickly learn all about the child within months of joining.

My daughter loves it there and is happy and I'm a happy mother.
