Covid Vaccination

My daughter, 15, needs her covid vaccination done in March. It will be her first one. We tried it months ago but it resulted in a meltdown. We tried dimming the lights, deep pressure, being in her own room but nothing helped her so we gave up. She wants it done but her anxiety and fear towards needles is through the roof.

This time, people are coming to the school and I have given permission and the heads up that she may refuse and they said they will do their best to help. She has had a negative experience around needles and willingly hasn't had one put in her for years. She's missed all her other jabs aswell. What helps you around needles?  Any advice is grateful. I need to pass it on to the school.

  • She has her covid vaccination tomorrow. She aware of it and hasn't shown any worries so far but I'm sure it will be a different story in school when she tries to get it done. She wants it done but the fear is just too big to even go near needles so it's a constant battle in her head.

It's my sons birthday tomorrow so it's great to have something to look forward to after.
