Covid-19 Vaccine

Hi everyone

my 8 year old who is diagnosed ASC has his first Covid-19 vaccine today. He hasn’t had a needle since he was little. I’m anxious Grimacing about taking him because I don’t know what to expect. Can anyone give me advice and tips please. I’m planning on taking his tablet to hopefully distract him

thanks

Peter

  • I have a distinct memory of being given an injection when I was about 4, whoever was doing the injection said, "This won't hurt", but then it did. I felt more upset by being lied to than through the pain of the injection. I'm autistic. I think not giving false information is probably the best thing to do. Minimising the expectation of pain, and its short duration, would be useful though.
