Help- 19 yr old with major shift in behavior and eating

My 19 yr old son is mostly non verbal. He has done very well over the years with therapy and has been an active participant in his life and a loving child.  For context, he has had two major seizures during puberty and a few smaller ones but no more than 10 total and in the last year he had one. Having said that he was 6' 2" and 250 pounds and although he had a restrictive diet by choice he was like any other teenager eating us out of house and home. lol However about 12 months ago he started to expand his diet to eat healthier items and he lost 50 pounds by summer and was doing great. Here is where the real concern comes. By September he started to lose a little too much so we started back up with pizza etc. But really in the last 4 weeks he has begun to be more isolated. He's not listening at all. He barely wants to eat. He is really irritable but more concerning is that he is not using any words now, and when he does eat it takes 3 hours to eat a sandwich when it used to take 10 minutes. In addition he keeps acting like he's blowing his nose and chewing on his spit. I stated to think it was dental or maybe something to do with swallowing?  But now he's losing to much weight and I am scared for the 1st time with regards to his physical health. Obviously, I am lining up various doctors appointments, GP, Neuro, Dentist as a start but why I'm writing is to see if anyone else has experienced anything like this and has any advice.  He is like a whole different kid and I'm wondering what I might do as I wait for the doctors to get started?  thanks
