4 year old won't leave the house

Hello I'm looking for some advice.

My daughter is waiting for her ASD assessment, but os really struggling day to day.

She hasn't been to nursery for 8 weeks as the last time she went she was very distressed about the noise and bright lights.

Since then she has refused to leave the house at all which has affected my work and my relationship with my other daughter and my partner.

Professionals are not helping us despite me chasing them weekly.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thank you

  • I'm sorry she's struggling like this. When going to nursery could you let her take her favourite bear or toy you know something that makes her feel safe in herself. That's what my mum did with me because I was the same. I found I noticed the noise a lot less after I had something special with me.

And with the brightness maybe she could wear sunglasses or normal glasses with blue light lenses which will filter out the brightness. You could ask your local opticians about this. I hope this helps.
