Looking for support 2 & half year old development delays

Hi, I am new to this site & looking for some support & if people could share similar experiences. 

I have a daughter 2 & half years. Only child & she us really behind on every developmental area. She doesn't say any words but does babble a lot so I pray she will form words eventually. She has very little understanding but I have seen seen some improvements over rather last few months but now feel like it has come to a stop. A referral is in for an autism assessment & I have been told it will take up 2 1 year for the initial appointment. I personally feel like as a new parent I am struggling to come to terms with this & not sure how I will keep it together in the mean time. It is braking my heart seeing how different she is to other children & just wonder what her life will be like. 

It would be great if anyone can share any similar experiences.
