Unusal Meltdown

Hi all 

We are taking our daughter on holiday in May for my sisters wedding. At the weekend we took our little girl to the passport booth to get her photos done. She sat in the both for a few minuets before getting off the seat and refusing to go back in the boot. She was refusing to go in screaming and crying. So we took her away from the booth and said she did not need to have it done. She then started to cry and said she wanted the photo taken as she wanted to go on holiday. When we took her back to the booth again she went in for a few seconds and then refused again saying she can't. I was just  wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this. She was so upset and genuinely seemed scared. After we took her away she was so upset and screamed for the whole length of tesco she wanted to go back and just sobbed in the car. I felt so helpless this is the first time she has ever been like this well to this extent normally she can be calmed down and talked around but nothing would console er.  She normally has no issues having her photo done all her school ones she loves snap chat etc so was really distressing to see. Anyone had anything like this or think what may have caused it any help or advise would be great thanks Blush

  • We have not had a problem around photos like this, although my son is not keen on having his photo taken.

    However when I read your post I did see a similarity that there are things that my son wants to do and can't. I recall many times not understanding something logically. He can get upset too at not being able to do something.

    Sometimes he can be too anxious to do something but does not know the reason why.

    My son used to get excited about parties but then struggled to join in when he got there, needing a parent to stay. Holidays are difficult too as there is so much unknown. ( I find going to new or unknown places difficult too). Do you think the problem was not so much the photos but the unknown details attached to it?
