My recently diagnosed child has no idea what they want to do after leaving school this year. They have refused to consider staying on at school as they have never been happy there. We have visited all the local colleges with an open mind to subjects but they haven't liked any of them. I don't think they are emotionally and socially ready for employment. Anyone got any tips on how I can support? They don't like making decisions.

  • what do they love doing? What would they do with free time and the opportunity to do more or less anything? What interests them? I started maths at collage, maths interested me. If its the subjects they don't like maybe something unusual might fit. You'd be surprised how many obscure courses are out there. Also you say colleges, have you included adult / community colleges?
