Childcare in the evening

Hi there everyone,

I am new to this, so please be kind!

my son (10) was recently diagnosed with autism and ADHD.  He presents with behaviour that challenges - normally at school, but there are issues at home too.

Myself and his Dad very rarely go out, maybe yearly, if that, but there is a concert we would like to go to coming up in April and I am trying to find out what options are available for babysitters.  We don’t really have a support network to speak of and we would really prefer to have him looked after by someone who is trained.

Any advice gratefully received.

    You might want to try having a look at the Autism Services Directory here on the NAS site, which might have a childcare service near you, or a Family Information Service near you that would be able to point you in the right direction - https://www.autism.org.uk/directory

    Also, on some of the childcare/babysitting websites you can search for local babysitters and filter by different qualifications - for example, on childcare.co.uk you can filter for babysitters with special needs experience, first aid qualifications, childcare qualifications etc.
