- Hello I’m new to this site. I am looking for advice as I’m really struggling and have been for a while. . I have a 17 year old son with a diagnosis of high functioning autism. He can’t manage college he’s too scared to even try as he had a bad experience at school, so he has no friends. He’s a lovely boy, very considerate and thoughtful. He has school refused throughout school due to many things mainly anxiety and not feeling good enough. He left school last December 2020 and since then he just sits in his room and plays on the play station or watches you tube etc. He won’t engage with PALMS or with any help. I’m trying to encourage him to attend a meeting with a college this afternoon but he says he can’t do it. I said to him, don’t you want to make friends and he said that’s impossible. My heart just broke. Is there a group where teens can game online together to ease his loneliness???? Thank you Jo
