Autism burnout

I believe my 12 year old is suffering from autistic burnout. She has only recently been diagnosed but has been out of school and society for 2 years. Does anyone have any idea of what steps I may need to take to help her. Thank you

  • Hello, I am sorry to hear that your autistic child may be experiencing burnout, that must be really difficult to deal with. I don’t have any personal advice to give but hopefully these videos and contacts might help:

  • We all get it school use to cause me great anxiety and stress. I wasn't assesed when I was younger so I myself or my parents or teachers didn't fully understand why I got so attigiated at school and ended up in isolation and dention alot because of it because teachers didn't know how to deal with me. It becomes harder as an adult too like at work back in the day I was doing 50 hour shifts a week as a chef ended up breaking down had a mental health assessment couple of years later my mum and I came to the conclusion that I was autistic got on the waiting list for 5 years. Then got assessed now I can only manage part time work due the burnouts because if I get overwhelmed I just shut down. Not sure how I can be of help as I still haven't been able to counter it yet. But it's normal for ASD's unfortunately.
