Money

Hi everyone

Do you struggle to not spend your money?

I struggle but can't seem to find a working way yet to overcome the urge 2 get what I like, when I see it. ?

How did you find the way to stop ?

I think I struggle because I remember how it all went wrong 2 start with ?

Thanks Lizzy

Much appreciated

  • I used to get in a lot of debt because of the impulse to spend money on everything I saw that I wanted. Ive managed to control it over the years.
I still get quite anxious about money and feel guilty when I spend it, even though Im a lot more careful with it these days

If you dont mind me asking, how did it all go wrong to start with for you?

  • It all went wrong the moment, I started work at the age of 18, now 33. I had money 2 get my self things, ever seen than, I've struggled. I've unfortunately never felt guilty for spending it, but now, in the money way world we need it more than ever.

I've tried so many of the normally how to do ways, I found a way, bye an an app called yolt. But that's now closing down.

So, it helped, me for a while. Now I'm struggling to just find a way to stop and control how, to keep money.

  • Hmm, I can see why that must be very tough for you.

I dont know if this will help but what helped me get out of spending so much was this

I just thought about what makes me happy in life. Do the things I buy really make me happy? And if they dont I dont need them. Spending time in nature helps, you dont need to spend any money to enjoy that. Also being with the people you care about, I know you mentioned you have some really good friends.

the less stuff you have the less cluttered your mind is

Dont get me wrong, I still struggle with it a lot. Even now I am always online shopping trying to resist the temptation to buy myself more clothes than I need. Dont get me wrong, buying some things makes me happy but its sometimes hard to know when to stop

Havnt got it all figured out but thinking that way helps

  • That must be really tough for you and I can understand why you feel that way.

I hope one day they can become more understanding but even if they dont you have your friends and they are your family.

  • So sorry Billy I fell asleep on you.

I'm so gld your parents have made a difference in how they do thing and are supportive.

I wish I could say they where willing to read and see that I'm not going to be the person who they think they know.

It's a pressure family, unfortunately. I don't expect support from them, I've never had it the way I needed to have it.

So I don't like my parents and noir do I care about them. I know its not easy to read.

But I just feel there is no one in my life, other than the friends of chosen 2 make my family

  • Aw Im so glad that helped.

I can understand that must be tough for you, my parents wernt always as understanding as they are now about stuff and that was very difficult for me.

Have your parents read anything about autism, Like have they tried to understand?

  • Everything is my own way, apart of a gd lack control on money, which with the help boost from u, I think I can now start 2 feel better to try and succeed, on it. Thanks again.

Yes your complete right it does help when we do.

I think what does not make it easy, is the fact my parents don't get it and then I try and get them to see a area of where I'm struggling but it's not going in or getting through correctly.

  • That does make sense. I try and do that too, if we have our own way of doing things that helps

  • Don't worry.

Yes I have to agree I think our minds are to cluttered which unfortunately does not help, our control.

I try and keep things my way of doing stuff, if that can make sense at all.

Yes it is very gd indeed. I honestly probably wouldn't of made it without finding them.

Awwwww bless you. I get and understand its hard for you on that front to.

  • Hey sorry, Ive only just seen this. It didnt pop up on my notifications before

Thats good you have those people around you

I get like that with clothes too so I understand

I think the cluttered mind is a common autistic thing, mine always feels very cluttered too. I try and keep life as simple as possible, that helps a bit but its still hard

  • Excellently correct there. Glad it has helped you a lot. Seen finding it.

    Yes very nice indeed

  • Oh definetly, this network has helped me so much since ive found it.

Its just nice to know theres other people out there like us!
