Visiting my adult autistic son

I have a son living in supported living with carers there were issues btween my.son and i for awhile .has been resolved ive been stopped by social worker from.visiting my son in his home and him from.visiting me i can onlymeet him to go for a meal  is this against his rights is social worker allowed to do this ive done nothing wrong .

  • It sounds like you would benefit from an advocate to mediate with the carers and social worker. Have you been able to chat with the social worker about the reasons for these contact arrangements and if they can be reconsidered in the future?  Whether your social worker can decide what is in your son's best interests depends on his capacity and making sure he is happy in his home is one of the most important things for his wellbeing.  Perhaps if contact was difficult in the past your son's carers/SW are trying to built this back up gradually by it taking place in a neutral place first?  I hope that's helpful.
