Parent / Carers Volunteers required for New Research Project seeking to understand and find out more about dress up play / cosplay practice by autistic children and young people

Is your child interested in dress up play / cosplay?  How do you feel about them cosplaying?

Which characters inspire them? Do they have a favourite character that they dress up as / cosplay?

I am looking for volunteer parents and / or main carers who would be willing to talk about any aspect of their child’s dress up play / cosplay.  My project aims to increase understanding and inclusivity of creative, playful, and individual activities by autistic  children and young people, to explore their use for communication and interaction, and to help inform more focused personalised support and awareness.

  • Full information will be provided, and consent required.
  • Information will be collected in a survey / questionnaire format sent by post or email, however I would appreciate any thoughts regarding your and your child’s experience and welcome anything you would like to share.

Please contact me, Alice, at alice.leyman@port.ac.uk if you have any further questions and if you are interested in taking part. Thank you.

I am a PhD student at the University of Portsmouth & mum to an autistic teenager.
