UCAS applications

Does anyone know how a diagnosis affects University applications in the UK? Many universities are widening access for people from lower socio economic groups ( using post code , free school meals etc) , but do they also encourage other diversity - specifically people with ASD diagnosis ?

I don’t know if any university that has a quota or special entry scheme for ASD people but all universities typically have a student disability department that will help arange reasonable adjustments if a university offers you a place.

Do you know if many medical students have ASD? It would be a mistake to assume lots of mathematicians and computer science students do probably - I’m guessing all subjects have plenty of students with ASD, ADHD etc

Er I don’t have a daughter :s. I would say the stereotype of ASD students being more heavily represented in STEM is largely true but I couldn’t speak for medicine.
