Post diagnosis

Hello all

My son, 10,  was diagnosed in Jan '21 with ASD. It took 5years to get this diagnosis through assessments and contact with school etc. I understand this service is so understaffed and waiting lists are ridiculously long, but since his diagnosis, we have not heard anything from the paediatrician or anybody for that matter. Is this normal? I feel like we have just been thrown in at the deep end. His school have set some things in place to accommodate my son, but even the SEN at school doesn't appear very helpful. I'm just wondering if this is normal practice?

Thanks for reading

Chrissie
