Aspergers and cancer

Hello, our 16 yo has just been diagnosed with leukemia and we are wondering if there is any special support group for teens with HFA in the same situation? It has all been a shock for us but he seems not too bothered...I guess is a good thing, unless he is keeping his feelings to himself? We will get support but wondered if there is anything more specific out there for him? Or anyone has gone or is going through the same? Thanks.

  • Hello. The teenager may not be logically fully aware of the seriousness of the situation, and in general, he is doing the right thing. If he worries too much about the disease, the disease will take over his body and haunt his thoughts, which can negatively affect him. Now you need to lead your usual lifestyle by including in your daily schedule some necessary procedures. It will help you respond adequately to the situation and protect your psyche and your child's psyche. In addition, at 16 years old, the body is still strong enough to fight back against the disease. And the b16f10 tumor model studies show excellent results in creating a drug.
