  • Hello. I once did this myself to add to the information when my son was going through his diagnosis. I took discrete notes for 10 minutes. He was constantly blinking, clearing his throat, stamping his feet, flapping, biting his lips, picking his lips, jumping in his chair, rolling his shoulders, bouncing his legs, rubbing his head as though wiping sweat from his brow, talking to himself. I had never really done this before either, before this I had not noticed more than him flapping. He was his usual wonderful self so I would say there weren't any signs of anxiety, but he was drawing a picture which makes me wonder if it was helping him to concentrate?.

  • hi

stimming is often but not always because of anxiety or being excited, it is possible that he just enjoys the sensations he gets from stimming,it makes him feel good/comfortable it does sound as though its become quite the obsession though,im no expert but its a tricky one as the stimming can completley take over yet attempting to stop stimming can in itself can be detrimental and lead to sensory overload.  Have you recieved any input from any professionals regarding this, surely they have some sort of help to offer for this type of thing with regards to at least attempting to reduce it so its not taking over quite so much
