Clothing?

Hi everyone,

my 17 year old daughter really struggles to find clothing that she likes and is comfortable. She is highly sensitive to clothing and spends most of her days wearing the same set of pyjamas or her 1 ‘safe’ outfit to college.

I have found websites that look great with their specially designed clothing for autistic people, but they all have slogans etc about being neuro divergent, etc….nothing wrong with that, but she would love clothing that doesn’t necessarily have a statement?

We have considered her wearing an under garment that would act as a barrier, but they are always tight and make her feel very constricted….

i would love to hear any ideas etc that could help us, we have a friends wedding very soon and the only outfit my daughter feels safe in is covered in skull pictures

I find that I need to search for "Natural Organic Fibres" otherwise it's polyesters everywhere as if I'm saving the planet one microthread into the ocean at a time... I'm not sure what she likes to wear but I really prefer natural fibres as our skin responds better.

Being so sensitive, getting dressed seems to take planning! So, I've worked out over the years that a few nice things which all work together, which I can wear till they fall apart - 7 outfits one for each day of the week, work perfect. Of course the wool/silk leggings and vests from Engel which I found at Cambridge Baby, I could live in and never take off!
