Pica

Hi all,

I am a very lost parent to a 5 years old girl who has severe pica problem.

I am heartbroken and depressed to see her chewing and eating woods, flowers, leaves etc.

Any tips, helps or supports which are available to help me and my little girl would be really appreciated.

thank you !

  • i had pica as a child, i would eat lead pencils, wood, hair, paper, sand, plaster, glass. as i got older i understood the danger of doing it and that made me stop, thats the only thing that did, also 2 of my kids had pica, with them i found sensory chewers on a lanyard worked ok, it was hard finding the right texture for them but when i did it worked, i explained the possible dangerous side effects too and by 10 they both stopped pica.
