These are some books we have been suggested by the team who assessed our son to explain him ASD. Our boy will be 7 soon. 

My autism book by Gloria Dura Vila and Tamar Levi

The survival guide for kids with autism spectrum disorder (and their parents), by Elizabeth Verdick and Elizabeth Reeve

All cats have Asperger's syndrome by Katy Hoopman. 

Look them up online and see what you think. 

Also, a great video is "Amazing things happen". Very child friendly.

Thank you for the reply. That's a good idea to show him the symptoms, thanks 

maybe break it to him by discussing the symptoms, and then compare his life and what hes like to the symptoms of it so he can understand factually and see it as fact and evaluate it himself and recognize that it fits.
