Waiting diagnosis

Hi my little boy is 4 years old and since the age of 2 we’ve been told that’s he’s probably going to be on the spectrum with autism, what I’m finding really frustrating is he’s appointment is over the phone. I really need someone professional to spend time with my boy to see what we see. I can’t believe fighting to get a diagnosis is so hard! Any tips would be greatly received and this is all new to me
