Subject choices ,exams

My daughter is 12 years old in year 8.She has learning dissibilities ,she can not read or wright on her own,she does attend mainstream school.I know she is not ready to choose her subjects or do her exams,i do not know what to do.There is a parent evening at her school to help parents support their kids on what subjects they should choose but how does that help my daughter i feel like that meeting is not intended for us i feel very helpless and a bit stressed,i do not want my daughter to be invisible.any one been in same situation.

  • Hi Crystal12,i don't know if she is in the right school.I've questioned this so many times, she is very far behined plus as i said she is not able read or write on her own.We have looked at special schools but decided on mainstream but i'm sure like most kids on the spectrum they need something thats a bit of both, she doesn't seem to fit anywhere.
