Hi. I am new on here. Wanted to see what discussions there are active on here. There is obviously a great deal of support and experience available which is great.
My query today is quite specific.
I am a lone parent, mother, with two kids. My youngest, who is 6 this year, was diagnosed with HFA last October. I had been pushing for this since he was about three. No one really agreed with me or understood what I was talking about when I voiced my concerns. He has a lot of support at school and I have been able to make some changes to my working pattern to allow for more predictability for him. I now work 3 days as school time hours. My kids do still need chidcare in the morning for me to start early enough in the day.
My employer wished me to give up my set days. I am concerned this will have a negative impact on my son due to his diagnosis and associated anxieties and behaviours.
I am the only employee in the team to have set hours. I am usure of my rights in this situation. Has anyone been in this situation?
