Travel sickness

Hello I am new here and really need advice, my son is 10 and autistic, he is due to start a special needs school in September and will be travelling on a minibus to and from school and suffers badly with travel sickness any ideas of natural travel sickness stuff I can use as I don’t like the idea of giving him kwells everyday. I have tried the wrist bands but he kept talking them off and he won’t even try ginger biscuits, I did ask the doctors but they will not help. Thank you

  • I was sick on a Coach trip to Glasgow between Cairnryan and Ayr; I was on a ferry from Belfast. The Driver nearly chucked me out.

I remember being sick every time mum drove me to Dublin or Donegal. Plus, I boked on a bus from Dungannon to Enniskillen; en route to Galway.

Try ginger, and making him sit on top of a newspaper.

  • Sitting in the centre of the bus minimises the physical excursions on bumps.     Stress doesn't help - so giving a kit of parts like sick bags, wet-wipes etc. can alleviate the anxiety until a pattern of successful journeys can be established.

  • ahhh need empty stomach with not even fluid in it. but that wont work as he needs to eat and drink.
i observe when i feel sick its because my mums driving is very erratic and has sharp turns and instant too hard brake presses, that is a catalyst for the food or fluid in your stomache to want to come up. the only way around that from my experience is to not have anything in your stomach when traveling.
