Hi. 

My daughter is 3 and has been referred for an autism assessment. 

Her nursery have been fantastic and have picked up on a few things she does there which lead them ultimately wanting the referral. 

What can I expect with this assessment .? My husband is finding it hard and is refusing to acknowledge something maybe different about her. 

Any advice or support welcomed

    Firstly I would like to reassure your husband and yourself, that whatever the outcome of the diagnosis,  your daughter will still be the same amazing little girl.

    For your daughters age, the assessment itself will be an observation. They will look at how she interacts with her environment, the toys and resources, and the adults present. They will also ask you questions. 

    I can appreciate that this is likely an emotional and confusing time for your husband and yourself. The ultimate outcome of the assessment will be that support systems can be put in place to ensure the needs of your daughter are met.
