I am reading a fantastic book on autism

Good afternoon,

I have not posted for a while as my husband and I are still waiting for our son's report and I felt I had nothing to share until now.

I am reading a beautiful book called Autism: how to raise a happy autistic child. My son is not formally diagnosed yet but I believe I need to educate myself as much as I can to be the parent he deserves. My husband is reading it too.

I do not know if this is allowed but I would like to suggest this book to other parents with autistic children.

Also, I would like to thank every each of you for your  support. I want you to know I appreciate it greatly. You make me understand more and more everyday. Thank you.

Have a good day!

  • Hi, is this book aimed at younger children, teenagers or both? My 15 year old daughter is awaiting assessment & after a very stressful 'day' out, I'm at my wits' end. I'm looking for strategies to help her cope with people when we're out & about. She doesn't want to be left out of family trips & we definitely don't want to exclude her. But it's currently not great for any of us.

  • Hi, I'd say this book is a very helpful guide for people like me who are new to the subject. A very nice read. We have been suggested other books like "The incredible 5 point scale" which should help with everyday struggles. My son is 7. Maybe other people here will advice you about more appropriate age related books.
