How to get my child to write

My child can scribble but still can't draw a circle, person or write

I show him what to do but he still can't imitate me. I've also bought wipe clean books, erasable sketch pads and a blackboard, but still doesn't help.

He understands how to hold the pencil, crayon etc the proper way but just can't write

Any help please

  • My son doesnt write. Not that he can't - he won't. Hates feel/ sound of pen/pencil on paper. Also just paper itself. As result handwriting is yrs behind his peers. Thank heavens for technology, as stick him near a computer and he will type to his hearts content. I did wonder if he had poor fine motor skills, but he can draw beautifully (if reluctantly) with great eye for fine detail.

    That's brilliant he can do that. Thank god for technology, helps so much.

    He can paint but there not proper pictures. Thankfully my son is like yours and fine motor skills are perfect.

    I'll just have to keep at it and maybe it will come. I even take his hand with mine but still nothing
