SRS-2 Form

Today I received an Srs-2 form in the post from the educational psycholgist. It says on the form its a diagnostic tool to diagnose  traits of autism. However, my son has not been diagnosed yet. He is seeing the educational psycholgist to get 1-1 assistance in school. 

I assumed only health professionals such as a pediatrician could only diagnose autism

I'm wondering could someone tell me why this needs to be completed, considering they can't provide help for a child who has autism until the health professionals give a full diagnosis of it. 

Parents

  • there may be a section for parents to fill in.... look for a parents/carers section and consider filling it in --- in the preschool form

    ask the educational psychologist  ( ring them ) who sent it to you ...... parents can use this form to help diagnose their children.  as there no covering letter explaining why they sent it ? If not then u should ring the educational psychologist  just to find you what you are xpented to do.

    Thank you. Yes there was a covering sheet saying its a tool used to diagnose autism. I rang the psychologist who stated it was nothing to do with autism. I then rang the psychologist who changed her story when I stated what it said online
