I just found out my daughter (14) has just bought a paddling pool from amazon. I mean,she had an amazon gift voucher so I let her buy something with it but I was not expecting her to buy a flipping pool! She doesn't know I know and said it's a surprise for everyone!
To start off with, she doesn't like anything to do with water. She doesn't like getting wet because of the swimming costume sticking to her when she gets out and the temperature change so she avoids it altogether. As well as this, no-one has any swimming stuff because they've grown out of it and my daughter has looked on many shopping sites and doesn't like any. That's one issue we have to sort out. We also have a dog. The last thing I need is the dog ripping it and I've explained this to her and she says if he (the dog) rips it then it's alright because it was her choice to buy it. I don't want her to get upset.
What do I do about the sensory issues? Also, does anyone have any good websites for swimming costumes? She wants one with shorts and sleeves but the ones we've looked at are all for younger children...
