11 yo ASD son had an incident at Youth Club recently which means I am looking at him only returning if he has a personal assistant also in attendance as put bluntly I don’t think their staff have the requisite skills to deal with certain situations arising from the condition even though they claim to be ‘experienced’ in dealing with children with additional needs :/
Was informally dissuaded from applying for assessment/Direct Payments a couple of years back by somebody at the council as son wasn’t high enough on the spectrum to qualify for them in their opinion. I’m now thinking that may not necessarily be the case. He already has an EHC plan but thinking he maybe needs a new/revised education, health and care needs assessment.
Is anybody else in receipt of Direct/3rd party Payments for an ASD case?
