Hey, is there anyone here that's passionate about improving/reforming education for autistic children/teens?

I would be really grateful if you could share any experience, advice, expertise you have. What you think are key areas to consider, what triggered you in school/what helped etc.

No matter how small or insignificant it may seem it could be useful to someone so please share as much detail as possible.

Thank you in advance for your time and insight. It's time we find solutions to the issues that autistic children continue to face in schools- even the specialist ones!

  • Just from being on this site, I'm amazed at how much help autistic children do receive in school these days.

Back in the 1970s when I was in school,  there was almost nothing.  The special school I attended was an euphemism for no schooling.  We played table tennis, looked after plants, a few swimming lessons, basket weaving.  No 3Rs.

My message to today's children and parents is you're very lucky to be living in enlightened times.
