Delays again!!!! grrrr

Everytime SENAR send papers to a school they say they can accomodatebounce or bumblebee but have no spaces/or space not available till september!!! Yell

I am soo fed up with all of it now! Dont they realise saying school is full is not a good excuse! With more kids getting statemented this pas few years not all can be accomodated in mainstream education and even if this goverment think its possible it isnt always!!! Think its time some eyes are open wide!!

I withdrawn Bounce from school friday has they want to change his hours and he will miss the beginning of school and wont start till 10.30 and only stay for 2 hours so he spends time there at dinner time! I dont know why they cant just add onto his hours considering he will have his own routine and not share dinner or playtime with any other children (and they complain he dont interact with other kids!!!). He does miss school but I am not able to run up and down 1.5 miles 8 times a day and do a additional school run and support my other kids who have additional needs (I am not superwoman!!). Yet when trying to reason with the school they wont talk. Have asked Parent Partnership to deal with them but they refuse his calls and wont reply to his messages. I just want to scream!!!!!

I have even spoke to EP who recommended they help/support him during dinner time but when i mentioned what they had planned she agreed its not suitable and understands why I have decided to withdrawn him. But now what do i do?? Been advised to seek doctors help (awaiting phone call!). EP gonna speak to her boss who deals with kids out of school. SEN PP wants me to try and take him but doesnt realise i am a mom to 6 other kids!!!!

Why isnt life easy!!!!!!

Has anyone home teached a 5 year old asd child??? bounce has very short concentration and very limited speech and can be hyper. Just with all the other stuff going on I need some help or advice on what I can do with him but be short activities has juggling others /housework etc is a little nightmare!

  • hi tiredeyes - have you got a carer's assessment for yourself?  It may open the door to getting help?  Sorry if you've sd already in another post.  1 thing I've found is that sometimes going thru the "usual channels" as you've been advised to do is not enough.  If thwarted, go higher up.  The ones at a higher level have power, even if it's limited by lack of finances etc.  I'd email or write to the Chair (local councillor) + Director of Children's Services at your local Council - check out the website for details.  I'd also check out this site for info via the home page.  I know you've got a massive amount to deal with day in, day out.  I think you're brilliant, really, I do!
