Car Seat

I wondered whether anyone could give me some advice0. My son is autistic/ possible genetic disorder too awaiting testing, he will be three this month. Anyway at the moment my son is in a three point harness car seat, however is getting too big for this now. I am very anxious about putting him in a booster as he can already take his arms out of the one he is in now. I wondered if there were any specialist car seats or straps out there to make him more safe. ta x

  • How much does he weigh? Is his current seat a stage 0-1? If it is 0-1 and he weighs less than 18kg you can get a stage 1-2/3 seat with a harness. If he’s already in a larger seat but approaching the weight limit then I think the only accessories for normal seatbelts are ones to keep them in the correct position or stop them rubbing. I don’t think there is any way to keep them from escaping without affecting the safety of it if worn correctly in an accident. Thankfully my daughter is very good in the car, only escaped from her car seat harness once and only undid her seatbelt once but that was her being helpful when I’d already parked the car
