Good evening, I have a little boy age 7 with a ASD diagnosis since age 2. He is lovely and very functional although he has social challenges and he ia not aware of danger at all. He recently stopped wetting the bed. He has been getting DLA middle rate and lower rate od the movility element but as he has stopped wetting the bed I wonder if this is a change of circumstances/care needs to report to the DWP? I am very traumatised with them as they wanted some money back from carers allowance, thankfully I proved that they were wrong but those were the most successful months of my life. Now I am really worried about what I need to report to them. Can someone help or shed some light to this issue please? Thank you very much x
does your boy need Frequent help or constant supervision during the day, supervision at night ?
He needs constant supervision during the day and most nights
then u are ok the question i just asked you is for middle DLA rate.
Also he may start wetting the bed again.
but with or without bed wetting I think you are ok
I am no expert on benefits I simply looked up the criteria for middle rate DLA here
www.gov.uk/.../DLA-rates
Thank you very much. Autism needs vary so much but most of the time they don't decrease. Just tricky!
