Statementing

hi there

i am mum of 2 newly diagnoised adhd boys (11yrs diag in july 6yrs diag in october)

my  11yrs ds is also likely asperges but they want to facos on the adhd problems not the social and communication dissorder.

HOW? do i get my eldest (and possiabley the middle son) statemented?

i have faught so long to get some help but just a diagnosis isnt help its just a lable. i want my sons to have the best possible chance with their start in life and have a feeling being statemented will help them.

the classroom assistant sits on the same table in both my sons groups.

what other support can/could they have?  what does statementing mean and what would happen? how do i get it done?

any advice is very welcome.

  • thank you so much for your reply.

for my older son they have got him in a reading and writing group. but i think that is it.  he really is struggling socially. having anixity attacks yesterday he has bitten and torn the skin on his finger tips down to the first knuckle on both hands. he also rubbed his eyes so much untill they were red raw and now the blood has risen to the surface. these attacks are happening more often. (hes not sucked his lips so bad they bleed for a few weels(makes them so sore they look like the lipstick the clowns wear))

as far as i am aware there is no PLAN in action for either of my boys

for my middle son i personally dont think he really needs much help as his issue is just adhd and medication seems to be working a treat with him. he did all his work at school today they let him do his homework in class. and he seems to have a good static group of peers.

thank you, i will explore the areas you have advised
