Hello.

My son was diagnosed with ASC last year, aged 28 years.  We have struggled for years and muddled along not really getting anywhere, not knowing what the reasons were behind his difficulties.

I need support, as well as him, so I can find out the best way to help him.  

It would be so good to be in contact with parents in a similar situation who understand what it is like; my family don't have any idea and think that the diagnosis means everything is fine now. Of course it isn't and there is no magic wand or cure.

It is a constant concern and worry to both of us, and he is anxious enough already;  

Is there anyone else out there who has a high functioning adult with ASC?

    You may like to contact our Autism Helpline team who can provide you with information and advice . You can contact the team via telephone on 0808 800 4104 (Monday to Thursday 10am to 4pm, Friday 9am to 3pm).     You may like to contact our Parent to Parent service who offers emotional support to parents and carers of children or adults with autism. This service is confidential and run by trained parent volunteers who are all parents themselves of a child or adult with autism .
