Accompanying/visiting autistic adults in hospital during Covid-19 restrictions

Hi all, I'm the sister of a person with autism and severe learning disabilities, and I've been shocked at the lack of guidance the NHS has issued for visiting/ staying with autistic adults in hospital during the Covid-19 pandemic. Fortunately many of the restrictions are easing now, but it's still chilling that they didn't add autistic people to the list of people who could have "essential visitors" until April 8th! I know that, in the case of my sibling, they would have to be sedated and restrained if they were without a familiar carer, so for some people their long-term physical and mental health is on the line. I was wondering what experiences other people have had with hospitals and visiting during these difficult times? Obviously infection control is everything, but how have your hospitals balanced that with reasonable adjustments? Would love to hear any comments...It's hard not to feel on your own with things like this!
