Friendship groups for teenage boy

Hi all

Hope you are all well. I'd love to know of any groups that my 15 year son can join in or around SW4. He's high-functioning autistic and good to be around. He loves the usual teenage things - Star Wars, Friday Night Dinner etc. He doesn't have any school friends near us so would love to know about any kids in the area that we could possibly meet - within social distancing guidelines and other safety checks of course! Thanks so much for listening and I hope to hear from other similar parents.

Keep an eye for / search for board games groups where the group plays wargames and fantasy games around a table. Also model making groups. My autie nephew joined the Remote controll (RC) airplane group and now is a major part of that group. Go to model/wargammer shops and ask there.

Both these sets usually contain a high percentage of autism kids.

Hi Kate,

You might want to have a look at the NAS Autism Services Directory, which you can find here: https://www.autism.org.uk/directory/browse/cid=58~aid=1.aspx . You can filter the directory for different types of services, including social groups, and filter by location so hopefully you'll be able to find something suitable near you for your son.
