Financial support for autistic 19 year old in England

Hi

My son is is 19 and he is completely isolated. He cant face meeting anyone only us living at home with him.  When he turned 16 I tried sorting out the Personal Independent Payment for him however because he could not meet physically or by phone the person who was going to assess him, all failed. He does not like or want to accept his diagnosis and it is impossible to reason with him about the way he is

As my husband and I get older, we worry about his future.  He could not complete secondary school due to his anxiety and some mistakes the school made with him even if head a diagnosis. He only completed up to year 8.  For 3 years he was only in his room playing games and it was impossible to interact with him.  At 17 he came out of his room and decided to interact with the rest of the family and accepted visits from his grandma. Now he continues to interact with us except grandma, but does not leave the house or can meet anybody else.

Is any way of providing him with any financial support?  Thank you for your advice.
