8yr old boy, autistic and very bright. Wants to share interests in space, technology, gaming with others, online.

Hi everyone

my friend has a son who is extremely bright and has a passion for all things space.  He needs to mix with others and wants to, but he wants to mix with kids who have the same interest has himself.  They live in rural Ireland but have good internet access and the boy is very good at technology.  Any ideas out there?  I'd be grateful of any ideas at all.  The family are very stressed.

thanks Abnid

  • Why not ask all of the aerospace companies from around the world to send him publicity blurb?     It's easy to e-mail their public relations teams.     I'm sure having lots of glossy stuff dropping through the letter box addressed to him would be really exciting!

There's also the Brickish Association - serious Lego enthusiasts!   Mindstorms?

I taught my daughter build a PC for herself when she was 8 - it's not difficult - but it stretches the mind to get it all sorted and running.

Does he do Cubs?      They often do STEM activities.

What about building working rockets - there's a whole load of people on the internet sharing designs.
