6 year old refusing to wear clothes

Hello everyone,

I am looking for some help/advice on what to do about my 6 year old son refusing to wear any clothes.

He is non-verbal and uses PECS to communicate but recently he has started to not want to wear any clothes. I have tried different items of clothing, different materials but this problem seems to have come out of nowhere. He has a meltdown if I even pick up any of his clothes and hides them around the house.

I can no longer get him to leave the house for some fresh air which he used to love going for a walk.

If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated!

thank you

stay safe

  • What a poor child! Something must have been triggered this behavior. Perhaps some piece of clothing has caused him pain, and now he doesn't want to wear clothes at all so that he doesn't feel distressed again. Children are susceptible to discomfort. My nephew used to throw tantrums at the sight of turtlenecks because one time, such a thing gave him allergies. The material was of poor quality. Now we choose his clothes carefully so that nothing like that happens again. Especially we're afraid to order from online stores because you can get a pig in a poke. But so far the clothes are of high quality, for example, the ones from miniolie, which is essential for the child's health.
