Nose picking!!

Hi all,

My son is 7 years old with ASD and ADHD. We are having alot of nose bleeds because he constantly has his finger up it!! He is very sensory so I am aware this is a sensory issue but I am concerned about the amount of nose bleeds he is having, it is now almost every other day, some are quite bad. Any ideas on how I can try to stop this happening?

  • Hi. Not sure if it helps but I did this a lot when I was a kid. Still catch myself doing it unaware occasionally and feel embarrassed when I realise. My biggest thing growing up was thumb sucking. 
    not sure if it’s classed as stimming but was forever getting told off for it but couldn’t stop. It took 2 separate orthodontist trips over the years for 2 braces and then an anti bite varnish on my thumb to break the habit. If is a difficult thing to overcome.
