Compassionate diagnosis

Hi all, I am new to this forum but was wondering if anyone would be able to help. My partner is seeking an assessment for a diagnosis of Aspergers, but we are struggling to find the right person to go to for this. To me, it has been obvious for years that he has Aspergers, but at 52, it has taken him a long time to come round to the idea of putting himself out there for an assessment. I am a huge fan of the work of Dr Tony Attwood and the positive way in which he speaks about Aspergers, not as a disability but as a gift. As a very high functioning, intelligent individual, I am very keen for a diagnosis to be presented to my partner in this way, as opposed to someone presenting him with a list of everything that is "wrong" with him.

If anyone knows anyone in the UK who takes a similar approach to Dr Attwood, I would so appreciate being pointed in their direction.

Many thanks.
