Second mmr

Hello, looking for some advice. Im not for a second saying the mmr caused my childs autism, we knew he was displaying signs from about 8 months old, however almost immediatly after it, he was ill and then changed completely, like a light turned off, stopped talking and was silent for nearly an entire year. He has come so far now and we just got his appointment in for his second lot of mmr and im scared incase it sets him back again. Does anyone have any advice for me, thabks in advance

I caught measles as a young child and I had mumps a few years later. I was hospitalised with measles as my fever was so high. I got pneumonia but nothing life-long except a predisposition to a chesty cough. I am really lucky to have got through both without long lasting effects such as damage to hearing. These even if you believe in a connection, are worse than autism.

You are entitled to your belief but all the "evidence" that linked vaccination to autism had been comprehensively rebutted.

My belief is that it's dangerous to discourage people from protecting their children from serious illnesses that can be extremely disabling based on concerns that have no foundation in scientific fact.

I, personally, believe that the MMR jab DID make me an Aspie. However, I am powerless over what happened in the past.

The research that linked vaccination to autism has been discredited. There's no evidence that MMR has any impact. It might have been a coincidence, there may have been something else happening at around that time what was a trigger.

In my opinion Measles is far worse that autism so even if they're was a link, which there isn't, I'd still vaccinate.
