Hi All,
I am looking for some advice from parents or carers with similar issues.
Let me give you some background:
My six yr old son is in year 1. Since starting the new school year his behaviour is steadily going downhill. He is struggling with his fine motor skills and concentration. If he knows that he is doing something that he finds hard then he becomes disruptive or says he doesn't feel very well. His 121 has been with him since reception, but I feel that she's too calm and quiet and my son plays up to this. Last week the class teacher asked him to do something and he said no and then threw a pencil at the teacher. Before Christmas he actually hit out at his 121. At home he is well behaved and meltdowns are few and far between. I think this is mainly because we let him do alot of choosing what he likes to do. When he is naughty at school he gets choices and fun things (tablet, TV taken away) but this is proving to be less effective.
We have a meeting with his teacher and the SEN co-ordinator later this week and I would like to know what questions I should be asking and if anyone has any advice or suggestions that could help?
I just want my son to be happy and he obviously isn't at the moment
Thank you in advance,
Worried Mummy!
