Hi everyone,
I will be doing a longer post later, but was wondering when people post... " undiagnosed son/daughter with aspergers" what does that mean? ie have they been assessed and not had a diagnosis, or do people suspect they have it?

I think there can be a multitude of reasons. Some will simply prefer to self identify rather than submit to what can seem like a medicalised process which focuses only on deficits. Others might eshew the whole process and the label too but have strong traits that are obvious to other family members (who then seek help for issues both for the individual and within the family). I expect a fair few are put off by the lengthy waits on the NHS or the high costs of going private too. Or maybe they're on waiting lists, perhaps informally diagnosed by a related professional and need help in the meantime?
