son dose not want to leave his bedroom

hi there i have a 16 year old son with autism and sensory progressive disorder that will not leave room or go out . he has been like this for over a year. he gets very stressed when door is open to go out he will stand there and not move. i have had family doctor to him but they suggest cams and a family support worker but they have left as son is older now . i have been encouraging and patiently with him but nothing has changed help

staying alone in one's bedroom is not unusual and harmless. It is a refuge from insane, hostile outside world.

As a teenager, I used to sit alone, in silence, in the darkness for hours, in my bedroom.

And as long as he goes out to eat, bathe and toilet. He may grow out of it.

DD is 17 and exactly the same. Only gets out of bed to use the loo or eat, spends the rest of the WHOLE DAY in bed asleep, watching TV or on her phone

Hi. My son is just the same. He would spend his life in his room. There seems to be no reason as to being able to leave room/ house , some days he just can. No helpful suggestions I'm afraid, but you are not alone.

Does he wear headphones when going out? Might help. I like my hat over my ears too. If say hes into comic books would a comic book shop or similar tempt him out? Whatever hes interested in go somewhere related then say a quiet cafe or other quiet place
