Advice Needed on feeding my 19yo son

I have just moved back in to the family home after 5 years away and have found my son living on rice and cheese.  He has always been difficult to feed having the usual aversion to vegetables, onions and anything that isn't neutral in taste, texture and colour.  However his diet is now particularly unhealthy and he eats huge quantities of the same thing every day.  I really need some advice on recipes which will vary his diet whilst keeping to his bland colour and taste palette.  I am finding it very difficult to wrap my head around this kind of food so any advice would be helpful.  Thanks for reading

  • Hi podstick. My teen would be the same tbh. It's taken alot of perseverance. For years I've blended and added fruit or veg to items. I also add the odd root vegetables to mashed potatoes. Last night I added 1 parsnip and a sweet potato. We do the whole....'eat 1 spoonful and you can have .....(insert the food hes craving) I've told him why we need vegetables and fruit too. We're now at the stage where last night he ate all of the veg on his plate without me asking! I would just leave a little bit on his plate and say just lick it to try, then just nibble a bit to see, its taken months
